Shiner Hefeweizen

Here is an update of my latest beer tasting and the six-pack of the week is Shiner Hefeweizen. Being a fan of Shiner Bock I have decided to give each of Spoetzl Brewery's creations that I come across. I have to say this is the worst of the three brews I have sampled (the third was Bohemian Black Lager). It had the look of a typical hefeweizen which is golden and cloudy due to it being unfiltered. This also led to a decent foamy head which reduced, but stayed throughout the drinking process. The beer lost points when it came to taste though. A nice wheat taste on initial contact, but way too much emphasis on the lemon which gave it a sour after taste. Not unbearable, but, by no means was it great. I would not recommend.

Happy drinking.
